The Signs of Justice, one of the core training programs offered through Collaborative Assets LLC, doing business as Tactical Communications for Critical Incidents (TacComCI), was selected as the Grand Prize Winner in a business development program sponsored by the Washington, DC Mayor’s Office and administered through the DC Department of Small and Local Business Development (DSLBD). As part of this recognition, The Signs of Justice received $20,000 to support the expansion and promotion of its training for law enforcement.
The Signs of Justice participated in the Dream Accelerator Program for Wards 7 and 8, an initiative sponsored by the Washington, DC Mayor’s Office to strengthen and invest in small businesses located east of the river. Participants received structured training, coaching, and support to refine their business models and prepare for a final pitch event.
The program concluded with the Battle of the Wards, a competitive pitch showcase featuring the strongest concepts from the cohort.
Representing Ward 7/8, The Signs of Justice demonstrated its relevance, community impact, and potential to improve communication readiness during critical incidents. Based on this presentation, it was selected as the Grand Prize Winner.
The $20,000 award supports:
Promotion of the training to law enforcement, command staff, first responders, immigration officers, security officers, and other public safety professionals
Targeted outreach to agencies and departments that would benefit from The Signs of Justice
Financial management of its growth and development, including planning for sustainable expansion and responsible scaling of the training program
Winning a program sponsored by the Washington, DC Mayor’s Office underscores the importance and urgency of this work. The award affirms that The Signs of Justice is a meaningful, scalable solution that strengthens communication access and public safety for Deaf and Hard of Hearing residents across Washington, DC.
